Illegal rubbish dumping is a serious and unsightly problem which negatively affects local community and pollutes environment.
Frasers Property Botanica Lidcombe
In August 2017, local residents report illegal dumping from Frasers Property in Botanica Lidcombe. The company failed to implement a waste management and dump some of their waste to near residents private bins.
Local residents reported to the Regional Illegal Dumping (RID) squads (RID Squads are regionally based teams that specialise in dealing with illegal dumping and illegal landfilling. The squads are funded by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and the member local councils who opt to work together and pool resources to tackle illegal dumping).
Penalties for unauthorised dumping are up to $5 million.
